Service Description

Did you know that we can’t survive more than 3 days without water and we are about 60% water? So let’s investigate all things water! Meet microscopic amoeba and learn all about these water-living organisms. Find out about fresh and saltwater algae and discover what happens in an algal bloom. What is water at a molecular level? Will you take the clean water challenge and try to separate dirty water mixture through filtration? Join us live online to get the most out of the session. All classes will be recorded this term so if something comes up, you will be able to catch the session on replay for two weeks. One ticket per family/household so siblings can join together. Please check the time in your state as some states will be in daylight time saving (AEDT). Optional resources: Paper and writing materials Water Filtration Activity: 1L plastic bottle (top third cut off to make a filter OR a plastic cup with holes in the bottom Bottom of the plastic bottle OR a second plastic cup (no holes) OR a bowl Coffee filter Stones -two different sizes if possible Sand Dirty water (from a river or ocean or made from clean water mixed with a little compost or mud) Dish towel or paper towels
