Service Description

Calling all keen chemists! Join us as we find out what matter is and explore mixtures in this senior science chemistry session. Learn about particle theory and have fun with a strange substance which is neither solid, liquid or gas! We will also be creating a lava lamp as we explore density, chemical reactions and mixtures. Join us live online to get the most out of the session. All classes will be recorded this term so if something comes up, you will be able to catch the session on replay for two weeks. One ticket per family/household so siblings can join together. Please check the time in your state as some states will be in daylight time saving (AEDT). Optional resources: Paper and writing materials Activity 1: Non-Newtonian Matter Cornflour Jug of water Bowl Activity 2: Lava Lamp Vegetable oil Food colouring Dissolvable aspirin Plastic bottle and funnel OR sealable glass jar Paper towels Dish towels Activities 1/2 can also be done later as optional follow up.
